Storing wine at home can significantly affect the taste and quality of the wine you serve. Temperature is the most important factor.

White and rosé wines are best enjoyed chilled, while red wines are served at slightly higher temperatures. Keeping wine at a stable temperature helps avoid sudden changes that can damage the aroma. Besides temperature, it is important to pay attention to the conditions in which the wine is stored.

Proper storage for wine freshness and aroma.

Humidity plays an important role. Ideally, the space where you store wine should have humidity between 60-70%, so that cork stoppers remain elastic and prevent oxygen from entering.

Light can adversely affect wine, especially white and aromatic wines, so it is advisable to store bottles in darkness or in closed cabinets.

Horizontal storage of bottles is recommended for wines with cork stoppers – this keeps the cork moist and prevents the wine from oxidizing. For wines with metal caps or screw closures, horizontal storage is not mandatory, but can still be practical for space.

When opening and closing wine, using vacuum corks can extend the freshness of wine for several days, especially for opened red and white wines.

With careful storage, every bottle of wine can retain the aromas and balance that the winemaker wanted to convey, whether it is wine for everyday enjoyment or a collector’s bottle.
