Loimer Ried Heiligenstein Riesling Kamptal DAC 2019 from Weingut Fred Loimer is a top example of dry natural Riesling from the prestigious Zöbing Ried Heiligenstein site. The grapes were hand-harvested in late September 2019, spontaneously fermented in stainless-steel tanks, and aged for a long time on full lees, then on fine lees in large wooden casks before being bottled unfiltered.
In the glass, aromas of candied fruit, dried apricots and vanilla dominate, with subtle herbal and mineral tones, while on the palate the wine delivers a dense, creamy, mineral feel with balanced, vibrant acidity. With 13% alcohol and a long ageing potential of 10 to 12 years, this wine is highly layered and complex, ideal for gastronomic pairings with spicier fish dishes or richer specialties.
