Loimer Anning Pinot Noir 2019 from Weingut Fred Loimer represents an elegant, structured red wine from the Kamptal region, clearly bearing a Burgundian influence in its character. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented spontaneously with 100% whole cluster maceration in wooden vinification vessels, and the wine was aged for 12 months in smaller oak barrels and an additional 6 months in larger barrels, after which it was bottled unfiltered.
In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby red color with purple reflections, and the aromatic profile includes cherries, plums, sweet berries, and discreet floral notes complemented by subtle herbal and earthy nuances. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, with balanced acidity, fine tannins, and a mineral finish, giving it a harmonious and elegant profile. With 12.5% alcohol and biodynamic production, this wine is a suitable pairing for more complex dishes such as goulash, game, and dishes with aromatic components, and shows good aging potential of 3 to about 10 years.
