Wassmann Mundia 2022 is a dry red wine made as a biodynamic Cuvée blend of 50% Kékfrankos and 50% Cabernet Franc from the Villány (DHC Classicus) wine region. The harvest was carried out by hand (September 9 and 12), and spontaneous fermentation took place in open stainless-steel tanks with manual punch-down, with no additives.
The wine then aged for 18 months in used Hungarian and French barrique barrels, after which it was bottled unfiltered and unfined, with minimal sulfur and a natural biodynamic approach. On the nose and palate, ripe cherries, black berries, cocoa, and vanilla take the lead, with a velvety structure and a long, balanced finish—making it more complex and very enjoyable.
This fuller-bodied red wine pairs beautifully with red meat, game, and characterful cheeses, and its good structure and tannins allow it to be cellared for several years, with a recommended window through around 2028. having even won first prize in the naturwein category at the International Winelovers Wine Award.
