Wassmann Mundia 2022 is a dry red wine crafted as a biodynamic Cuvée blend of 50% Kékfrankos and 50% Cabernet Franc from the Villány (DHC Classicus) wine region. The harvest was conducted manually (September 9th and 12th), and spontaneous fermentation took place in open stainless steel tanks with manual cap plunging, without additives.
The wine then aged for 18 months in used Hungarian and French barrique barrels, after which it was bottled unfiltered and unfined, with minimal sulfur and a natural biodynamic approach. The nose and palate are dominated by ripe cherries, black berries, cocoa, and vanilla with a velvety structure and a long, balanced finish – making it complex and very pleasant.
This full-bodied red wine pairs excellently with red meat, game, and characterful cheeses. Its good structure and tannins allow it to be cellared for several years, with a recommended peak around 2028. It even won first prize in the naturwein category at the International Winelovers Wine Award.
