Description

Mária Nagy‑Eged‑hegy dűlő Egri Cuvée Grand Superior 2023 is a dry white wine from the top Grand Superior class, sourced from Nagy‑Eged‑hegy, one of Eger’s most esteemed vineyard sites. The wine is made from Chardonnay, Furmint, and Sauvignon Blanc, which together create a complex aromatic palette with a fruity and mineral character that clearly reflects the terroir of limestone soils and the continental climate of this wine region.

The production process includes hand harvesting, destemming and gentle pressing, fermentation in brand-new oak barrels, and partial malolactic fermentation, after which the wine ages for 10 months in oak barrels of different sizes (228, 300, and 500 L). This approach delivers a full, elegant profile with finely integrated oak spice that complements the fruit notes without dominating, with lively acidity and a long aftertaste.

On the palate, notes of tropical fruit such as mango and pineapple, citrus lime, and ripe peach dominate, while the finish leaves a subtle salinity and mineral depth, making this wine very enjoyable both for solo tasting and with more complex food pairings such as fish, seafood, or dishes with creamy sauces.
